Police Chief Charles Quinn, Sr. to Retire April 30

After over 44 years of law enforcement service, and 39 years as a dedicated member of the Souderton Police Department, Police Chief Charles A. Quinn, Sr. is retiring on April 30.

Police Chief Quinn began his career in law enforcement at the Ambler Police Department where he obtained police training through the Pennsylvania State Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Federal Food & Drug Administration. He graduated from the FBI Detective School’s 31st session in 1975, and throughout his career he received advanced training in the fields of narcotics investigation and drug control and crime prevention.

Years of Service in Souderton

Police Chief Quinn joined the Souderton Borough Police Department in 1971, and was quickly promoted to the position of Sergeant in 1973. Following the untimely death of Chief Paul Wolf, Jr. was selected to serve as Acting Chief of the department in 1982, and was formally appointed Chief of Police on October 3, 1983.

A United States Navy veteran who was stationed at Norfolk, VA, Police Chief Quinn also served our country aboard the USS Randolph – an aircraft carrier that operated in the waters surrounding Cuba.

Currently, Police Chief Quinn is a permanent member on the executive board of the Montgomery County Lodge 14, Fraternal Order of Police.

Souderton Borough is grateful for Chief Quinn’s years of service and wishes him a happy and healthy retirement.
