Borough Council Meeting
When you visit a borough council meeting, at the front of the room will be seated the elected Mayor and 9 elected members of Borough Council. A Junior Councillor who is both a Souderton Borough resident and a junior or senior high school student is also appointed to a non-voting position by Borough Council to a one-year term.
Borough Council members are each elected to staggered 4-year terms. Three are elected from each of the three geographic wards. Wards Map.
The Mayor is voted for in an at-large election.
Souderton Borough Council meets the first Monday of every month in the Council Chambers of the Souderton Municipal Building. The meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and they are open to the public. Agendas are posted before each meeting, and minutes are posted after borough council has approved them. Committee meetings are held throughout the month, and information is available by calling the borough office.

The lapse in time was due to moving within the borough from Ward 2 to Ward 1.

Born and raised in the Upper Gwynedd, Pa., village of West Point, Ned Leight moved to Hatfield Borough for 2 years before finding a home in Souderton in 1966. Just 3 years after moving to Souderton he joined Borough Council. A member of Zion Mennonite Church, he recently joined the church board, and represents the Boy Scout troop to Zion Mennonite Church.
