Borough Council

When you visit a borough council meeting, at the front of the room will be seated the elected Mayor and 9 elected members of Borough Council. A Junior Councillor who is both a Souderton Borough resident and a junior or senior high school student is also appointed to a non-voting position by Borough Council to a one-year term.

Borough Council members are each elected to staggered 4-year terms. Three are elected from each of the three geographic wards. Wards Map.

The Mayor is voted for in an at-large election.

Souderton Borough Council meets the first Monday of every month in the Council Chambers of the Souderton Municipal Building. The meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and they are open to the public. Agendas are posted before each meeting, and minutes are posted after borough council has approved them. Committee meetings are held throughout the month, and information is available by calling the borough office.

Lived in Souderton Since: Lived on Diamond street from birth until 1976, then moved just outside the borough line on Reliance Road in Franconia Township. Moved to current residence on Main St. in 1996.

An active member of the community, Brian Goshow has lived in Souderton and the surrounding area all his life. Although he moved just outside the borough for a time, he and his wife, Beth, are raising their 3 children in Souderton.

Hobbies/Interests:   Sports, outdoor family activities, scuba diving
Affiliation/Organizations: Member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church.  Served as Trustee from 2001 to 2007, Youth Group Leader from 2001 to 2005, and Young Adult Leader from 2005 to present.
